Since joining the firm in 2001, Avlyn has become a central part of Activate’s daily operations and investor relations. She has worked across multiple funds, investment cycles, and stages of the firm’s evolution, giving her a depth of institutional knowledge developed through more than two decades of experience.
Limited partners often experience a firm through the quality of its communication, responsiveness, organization, and follow-through. Avlyn helps ensure that Activate meets those expectations consistently. She coordinates the processes and relationships connecting the firm’s investment activity, financial operations, portfolio work, and limited-partner responsibilities.
Her approach is defined by reliability, sound judgment, discretion, and attention to detail. Venture capital involves long time horizons and relationships that may extend across decades. Avlyn understands that every interaction contributes to a broader institutional partnership.
Before joining Activate, she worked at Morgan Stanley as a Registered Sales Assistant, where she developed experience in client service and financial communications. She previously spent more than a decade at Tele-Communications, Inc., then one of the country’s most prominent cable operators. Across a range of roles, she managed complex projects, coordinated teams, and saw how disciplined execution supports a large and evolving organization.
That experience prepared Avlyn for the varied demands of an early-stage investment firm, where work frequently crosses finance, investor relations, administration, communications, and portfolio activity. She serves as a connective presence across those functions and as a consistent point of contact for many of the firm’s longest-standing relationships.
Avlyn earned a BS in Business Administration from Concordia College.
Beyond her work at Activate, Avlyn is an avid distance runner and a fiercely competitive pickleball player.
